Rear strut alternative maybe?

Rear strut alternative maybe?
I recently replaced the front struts w KYB's on my '03. The car has 46K miles but the struts were tired and no longer had any rebound.
As we know, the rear struts prove rare unless going to Lexus and the cost is pretty high.
I just ordered some Gabriel rear struts for $50 each. Gabriel Rear Struts
Their website shows the product as new, so hopefully this will be sensible replacement.
Next weekend I can get them installed and follow up.
I'm putting the car back together with new rotors and pads, brake lines, painting the rotors, etc so I'm about tired at the moment of working on it, haha.
Note: Looks like these work 02 - 05 only

I wish I could report but the Gabriels are still sitting in the boxes, haven't gotten around to installing them yet. Once the Oklahoma heat set in , the SC went on battery tender and sleeping for the summer.

I replaced mine with Gabriel ones last year. idk how to explain it but the cup is a bit off and you have to turn it a bit to make it fit with some man power (plan to have two people) but it feels sturdy! Theyre good shocks and Ive had no problems with them at all. good smooth rides.

Are the Ultra Gabriels monotube?
I can't quite tell from the Gabriel website if the G-Forces are monotube gas-pressure designs versus twin-tube or not. Does anyone know? Are they avoiding Bilstein nomenclature?
1. What do you mean:
"the cup is a bit off, etc."
2. Do the Gabriels bottom out at slow speeds like the stock shocks have been reported to?
3. Did you have or does one need to have the car aligned after shock replacement? I know it is obligatory with struts.
4.. Does anyone make a monotube gas shock for the SC 430 that isn't a racing or lowering package? Is KYB a monotube? How would that stack up against the Lexus or Gabriel shocks? Does anyone have damping curves for the shocks like Bilstein publishes, sometimes?

Why don’t you pick up OEM?

looks like $130 shipped for one...

The son's 2005 SC made in June of 05 needs new rear struts. Lexus of Richmond is saying $2800 which I am guessing is a whole new strut assembly. The Son took the SC to a new guy who a guy that also has SC uses. and is a lot cheaper than the dealership. Is there any reason why he would need to replace anything other the shock absorber portion of the strut? Would he need to replace the springs, the strut mount, the coil spring damper, the strut mount bushing, cushion Collar. If I read BGW70's post correctly you order the shock portion from rockauto move all the other parts over and reinstall. You go ordering all those parts from megizip and it's like $650-700 per side.
