Front and rear suspension question...LCA front . Any rear suspension issues?
Hi all. 2006 SC430. 112k miles . one year ago, all shocks were replaced and the right upper ball joint was replaced due to some play. The care drives smoothly and tracks well.
I was changing the oil and noticed the passenger lower ball joint boot is split and the driver ball joint has a very slight leak.
I am going to replace the lower ball joints and tie rods...... has anyone found wear on the LCA lower control arm bushings and basically I am asking how common are they a problem. IF i replace the LCAs, I will go aftermarket, MOOG does not make the LCA, Beck Arnley does, does Beck Arnely make good quality suspension parts?
Rear suspension question.... with 112k miles on the odometer, what rear suspension parts are likely to wear out? Shocks were changed last year.
Thanks for any input.
Assuming you are asking about the LCA#2, from what I understand if your front tires goes bald in a couple thousand miles after replacement, the LCA#2 bushings are bad. I replaced mine since they are torn and went with OEM. You can go with poly bushing but to me it's a lot of work and it will make noise if you don't grease them.
Just jack the car up and look at the bushing. If they are cracked, replace them asap.
The rear? At 112k miles, aside from shocks I wouldn't worry about it. Although I changed the sway bar bushing (poly) & links on mine.
