As many of us on this forum, I keep my SC in the garage and only take her out on weekends. That probably the reason you don’t see many SC on the road like a Camry or RAV4.
You've all probably seen these statistics but I pretty much have them memorized from research.
There were 69,661 SC430 sold in the US total.
12,500 were 2006-end (I focused on this to find 6 speed auto)
1,986 model year 2008 (what I have)
These a very rare cars and as they say (unfortunately) they ain't making any more!
I feel incredibly blessed to have found a 2008 in really good shape for $16K plus tax and tags near me.
I mean getting a $70K car for $16K in pretty awesome!

I see a few of them everyday on my way to/from work. Probably 50% of the total are in CA.
My boss has a black PB edition just siting in the parking & collecting dust yet he refuses to sell it to me.

Not sure what you mean here. Are you asking why used SC430s are not more expensive or are you asking about the one I bought?
In general I believe all high end (quite expensive) cars like the SC430 tend to drop in value quickly for two reasons. One, most people can't afford a $70,000 car, and, two, those who can would have no interest in a used one (as they would just trade in the old one and buy another expensive new car).
As far as the one I bought, the dealer had it for quite a while, and, I believe they wanted it gone so I was a little lucky to be in the right place at the right time.

By the looks of it, you should be thanking him for not selling it to you.
My 2003 at 10700 is still running, still beautiful, and really irreplaceable. Been driving it everyday to the office while my denali 2500 is having hail damage repaired. Start the car, put the roof down, and joy. Still get comments from the public. Champagne gold and ecru. what a car! If they manage to do a SC500 in a droptop, I'm in!
