Conditioning the rubber seals

Conditioning the rubber seals
Especially important with our convertibles. This rubber becomes brittle and squeaks. Air leaks in. Water can leak in and destroy electronics.
- Clean seals thoroughly with warm water and dish soap. Don't use harsh chemicals. Dry them.
- Condition the seals with a heavy duty silicone lubricant. Spray or rub it on in generous amounts. Let it soak in or massage in. Restores the suppleness of the rubber.
- Enjoy a much more quiet ride and extend the longevity of the rubber.
There are plenty to do around the windows and rear trunk. Stop the roof halfway to access everything. If you go through it throughly it makes a big difference! Don't forget the front doors and pillars. Wear a rubber glove if you get the grease. Massage into the seals for maximum restoration. Works better than spray.
This stuff is one of the best.

The best thing to use on your rubber seals is Honda Part # 08798-9013 Shin-Etsu Silicone Grease. It is the best, not cheap but a tube will last forever. It will keep your rubber seals as soft as new. I use on both my LS 460L and the SC. The folks over on the LS forum turned me on to it when we got the LS.
