Now this SC is black so if you painted the hood maybe not so bad? Silver is just a *****!

If one goes to a restoration specialist rather than a "body shop" they will be able to match the paint to the highest standard. One key is that many restoration specialists do not deal with collision insurance adjusters except for their good customers. If you see a "Progressive Car" parked outside regularly then avoid that shop! If you look under the wheel wells of a car they painted and see overspray run.

Find the owner of car dealerships who is a collector. One person who comes to mind in near Boston is Herb Chambers. Find out who he takes his Ferraris to (it won't be his captive shop). Approach them with your business. If you go to vintage car races or exhibitions you can walk the pits or talk to the owners and they will know who to go to.

I had a guy rear end my AMG not bad but any work on that costs a fortune.. The specialist washed the entire car and detailed it including the interior, got the correct paint codes before he started work. He examined it outdoors, indoors, and under the intense lights of his paint booth. When I asked him why he said he had to see what the car really looked like before he could match the paint.

You will pay a bit more but the results will be worth it. Maybe something in mind for the future.

Black is actually very easy to paint and blend. If you have a good body shop they can blend any color easily(unless it’s a custom one off paint).

Just a follow up to my post #8. The guy sold the 07 with 59K on the clock for $14,200. The guy who bought it is going to try and flip it. I went and looked at it yesterday again. It is about 8 miles from me now so much closer drive. Same 7 year old tires, no timing belt no water pump. It has been washed and the coke stain down the inside passenger side has been cleaned up very well. Now that it is clean it has even more scratches than I saw. The folks who owned it live close to the river and I think she would drive it down to the river through the pasture through blueberry thickets or wild roses or there was rose bushes in there driveway? Guys asking $17,900 now. That is a very expensive car wash.

Bought a 2007 SC430 Matador Red Mica with camel interior in November (2018). 39,000 miles, showroom condition - not a scratch. Flawless condition. All mechanical records up to date. $20,900.

An older couple, the original owners, used it for about 3 months a year at their winter home in Tampa. Then it sat garaged the other 9 months - except when one of their children or grandchildren used the house in the summer for a few weeks at a time. They averaged only 3k miles a year.

All I’ve done is replace the run flat tires with updated wheels & Michelin Pilots. I guess I should get around to taking a photo one of these days lol. (I still should replace the timing belt & water pump soon out of an abundance of caution.)

(This car replaced my 2002 SC430 Black with saddle interior.)
