Default Could You Take A Nav Unit out of a 2010

Question

Could you take the nav unit out of a 2010 and install it in a 2006? I know that the 2010's had the next Gen from the 6 thru 9's so is it a Gen 5? Would it be a straight plug and play kind of hook up?

Thoughts

Dennis

Really I thought the 2010 SC had a complete Nav/Electronic update? So what was/is so different on a 2010 then?

Bob

Thanks I thought they had updated to 2010 SC Nav to the same hard drive system as is in my 2010 LS 460L. So the 2010 uses the same DVD as my 2006? So other than the touch screen and no cassette there really is no difference between the 2006 and 2010 other then the number they imported to the USA?

I just went and pulled up the 2010 spec's and it shows a new Hard Drive Nav system?

Well since I’ve never seen one up close, I suppose it could be more. Which probably means no direct plug and play. I checked for the part number of the 2010 NAV system. Came up with what I posted.

Yep, it’s different and the NAV is a hard drive. Here are the components found on Megazip.
