Audio door. Can it be repaired?

So, my new question for the day is that my audio door doesn't work on my 02. I have already pulled it out to replace the ML CD/Tape/Stereo and tested the switch. The switch is good. The door seems to slide easily enough using manual pressure while I had it out so it wasn't stuck. The electronic control board on top of the door assembly had no obvious defective components but without a schematic, I obviously couldn't be sure. So, I know I can buy a replacement on ebay for about 100 George Washington's. Or leave it. Or maybe someone knows someone who is repairing them What say Ye All! Thanks.

So I think you need to check the pulse width modulation on the door motor (Just kidding)
This is a silly question, but worth asking. Is the door plugged into the switch? When I bought my SC the door did not work either. When I was messing with my radio, I found the little wire was not connected to the switch.

I know it sounds crazy, but other people on this board have found the same problem

Well actually now that you mention it. I definitely plugged it back in. BUT, the plug had two additional wires that I couldn't identify in the 2002 Electrical Wiring Diagram manual. I thought they might go to the Steering Wheel Modulator. But I wanted to get my tuneage back up so I didn't bother trying to chase it any further. I sometimes have major disagreements with Lexus technical documentation. :-(

Mine was unplugged as well. PO had never used it, and never even knew it was unplugged. He fixed EVERYTHING on the car, so it must have come from the factory that way. Simple 5-minute fix to pull the console cover, and plug it back in.

Unfortunately it sat on my kitchen table for a few weeks until I was able to get my replacement ML. Even though I am an electronics tech, I live in a 750 sqft Condo now and had to basically get rid of all of my test equipment when I moved here. I used to have the equivalent of a DOD Electronics Lab. So, I would have normally bought the proper plug and wired it up and tested every function.. But nowadays I make do with what I have which is a Multimeter. 😢
