Door Speaker Grill Material

Door Speaker Grill Material
So, has anyone replaced the material on the door speaker grills? Mine looks fuzzy now and definitely not the fresh new OEM look any more. The material itself looks like a microfiber to me. I'm sure I can find some cheap microfiber towels in any color I want to replace the OEM material with. But the actual replacement is the question. If anyone has done it? How hard it was to do? What tools or materials like glues they needed? Thanks.

After checking different types of materials, I think it now looks more like a Terry Cloth type. If I had red interior that would be awesome. But a black or off black like the original is more likely for me. Several choices in color. But fabric weight is something I am clueless about. I want it to look OEM but also not interfere with the sound from the speaker. And then they have things like Transparency, horizontal and vertical stretch.

That was supposed to be a Star Trek reference to Doctor McCoy but I don't think it quite came out. LOL.

This project is a piece of cake. Some spray adhesive from a craft store and material cut to size and then tucked in around the edges is my guess.
I found the material online for less than $20.00. The spray adhesive for Foam/Fabric is about $10.00 for a can. I dont think I paid even that much the last time I bought some.
I just need to know if the speaker cover is removable from the door panel to know if it is a tuck job around the edges or if the cover comes off completely and you just roll the material around the edges and reinstall.

Sweet! Thanks Bob. You just answered all of our questions. Buy the material, buy the adhesive and pull the door panel. Remove the speaker cover grill, pull off the old cover and clean up the remaining glue. Spray with new adhesive and apply the new cloth. Screw it back into the door panel and remount. Easy squeezy. Thanks.
P.S. I have a question for you on the Old Tech thread. Thanks.

[QUOTE=VVTiBob;10615200]Since its one of the parts I have purchased, here is the part number, the last two character refer to color, in my case black. ....here are some photos....
Checked Amayama, $27 per side, plus shipping.
Or just do the replacement cover, since you are taking them off anyway to replace them.
Key is to find and match the ECRU shade cover, in my case.
OR
Clean the cover very well and de-burr. This is my next weekend project. Probably a mist of paint will not harm?
