Default Curious re 430 depreciation

Not that it matters since we all love 430 and plan to keep several years (or until they take our keys away later on! Lol) but just curious...

once a typical SC430 from say circa ‘04-‘07 gets to a $14-$19k value, how much do you think a SC430 depreciates in a normal given year? $2-3k? Less? More??

Realize it depends on the individual SC and care/history etc but let’s assume we’re comparing similar years and similar condition SCs...at some point the depreciation curve has flattened to a point where there very little depreciation after they (04-07 SCs) are (now) going on 13-16 yrs, right?

let the experienced opinions flow forth...

On an arithmetic chart it may appear to flatten. But, on a logarithmic chart, not so much....

(as you know, arithmetic scale shows equal spacing between units while logarithmic scale measures in percentage terms)

No, logarithms are an expression of exponents not percentage.

It's hard to know for certain, but I believe the depreciation curve has definitely flattened out quite a bit for the SC430s (on an Arithmetic scale, for those math people). I bought my 2006 SC430 in 2016 for $26k. It had 17k miles on it at the time, and was in pretty close to showroom condition. The car is in the same condition today (maybe actually slightly better), and has 23k miles. I would guess it would sell for around $20k if I could find the right buyer right now, so for me, I would estimate the depreciation to be around $2k per year.

I obviously haven't driven mine much (date night car for my wife and I), but it has been very affordable to own, and I anticipate many more years of reliable service from this car, with very low depreciation expense. It's all paid for, and the insurance and cost to license it each year is very low (license plates in Nebraska can be pricey for new cars, as there's a property tax portion based on value - any car over 12 years old does not pay any of this, though, so it only costs around $40 a year to license my SC430).

I think this is a very rare car that looks more unique with each passing year, and I could see a day when the values actually start to rise a bit for pristine low-mileage examples like mine.
