Question about Mark Levinson EQ
I notice that the vocals are brighter coming from the rear than the front. I'm trying to figure out if this is a function of the way the ML system distributes sound or if it was a result of my audio upgrade.
My guess is they designed it to make the sound feel like it was "around you" rather than blasting in your face from the door tweeters, but I just want to be sure.

I was playing with the fader to see what just the front and just the rear sounded like. The front was fairly quiet when turned all the way to F and the rear only played parts of the audio when turned all the way to R. But when it's on or near 0 it sounds the best but feels like most of the vocals are coming from the rear. Does everyone else's function in this way?

I cannot offer an opinion or facts really as my car has a JDM rear seat tonneau cover and the inside seat cover as well. Those two layers obviously affect sound performance of the rear midrange speakers and subwoofer.

Joe, it could be the difference in speaker quality between the Daytons and the Eminences.
I'd have to go back and check but I believe that most of what I hear is from the front. (I still have a fully stock system.) Then again, I never tried comparing the quality of the sound between the front and rear. But I think that the rear speakers are more for the lower ranges (mid to low) and the front are more for the mid-range and up. Higher notes tend to get absorbed by obstacles whereas lower notes can go through a lot more obstacles.

There a small photo in my signature panel below. The tonneau is no longer available anywhere. Many members have searched for it before. In addition, I wouldn’t buy used even if you could find one because it WILL be missing the installation templates and/or parts. Without the templates there is no way to do a proper installation.
