Default Timing belt condition + Expansion tank relief valve?

Hi! I got my car about 4 years / 50k kms ago; the previous owner changed the TB at my request.

Today, I tried to check the condition of the belt: Only managed to open the top-right cover (maybe the top-left would be easier?) but couldn't take it out without moving the radiator. I took this photo. What do you think about the condition of the belt? (btw, realized that I don't have a 22mm socket so I couldn't turn the engine over --- the plan was to do that. Turned out that I have only 21mm and 23mm).

Timing belt

On a separate note, when I was putting things back together, my arm might have brushed over the expansion tank. Something fell off. I think it was the pressure relief adjustment? I took a drive and it seems not to leak (from the look of it, the upper piece with a square and a cross was part of what's at the center of the "valve").

Anyone knows what it does? Should I glue it back?

From the looks of it your TB is OK. Nothing to worry about. Regarding the other item, I have no idea what it is.

Yes, sir. I think there're two versions, one with radiator cap and one with filler cap on the expansion tank (radiator has no cap).

Because there's no cap on the radiator but only a small hose (2cm outer diameter?) that goes to the radiator, it's harder to fill (air trapped inside easily). It can take weeks to get the final level.

Once I filled too much on a hot day, and that little thing blew some coolant out. I guess it's some kind of pressure relief, and it possibly could be turned with a ratchet or screw driver to adjust.

On the radiator, where the US version has the cap, there's another plastic "screw" like that one, though it only has a square in the middle, not the cross. Both looks to be 1/2".

Here is a picture of my European model and it appears to be the same as yours. I would presume you have broken the top off so if it is screwed down tight itshould not be a problem unless you need to undo it at some time in the future. I would replace the header tank if it was me, you never know what problem it may cause at some point.

Yes, that's it. I could swear I barely touched it.

I've never adjusted it, either. If it leaks, I'll replace the tank. I hope it doesn't.

If you have reached this point, you probably won't lose anything by trying to glue it back on. If it works, you win. If it doesn't, you are still back where you started.
