I am replacing the front and rear seat belts on the SC 430. Can you advise how to remove the front seat belts? I am able to remove the rear. Thank-you

can you provide more detail?
maybe a picture where the problem is located.
the seatbelts should be pretty easy to remove.

BTW, why are you replacing the seatbelts?
are they slow to retract?

Actually, my situation has changed. I was able to remove the front and now working on the rear seat belts. I had thought I was able to remove them easily, not so simple. I have been able to remove the front.

Reason for removal - sending in to replace the restraint straps due to discoloration. A group in MA refurbishes back to original but have to send in the entire restraint system. Ecru in color and easy to discolor.

Thank-you. Look forward to chatting

I replaced my drivers front last year. It was fraying. It looks involved, you have to take a lot apart. dont be put off, it is fairly easy. This is an in depth post about replacing the rear sub woofer. These steps are what you need to get to the side panel where the seat belt is located. I made a post about the seat belt in this.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc4...er-access.html

The seat belt retractor in the door also has the seat belt tensioner built in. Like an airbag it has a small explosive charge. so you should disconnect your battery before playing with it. Because of this no one would ship it to me. I had to get it from the dealer.

I cleaned my recently with a degreaser spray from homedepot.

spray it on, let soaked for few minute, and gently brush it out.

Did the same, I actually had the belt soaked in a pail for sometime and then wiped down and air dried. Huge difference in looks and function.
