Default New Stereo

Hi folks, recently had a Kenwood DMX907 installed into my 02-SC after it munched a CD for the last time. Local shop did an amazing job on the install, retaining stereo door, factory nav, stereo wheel controls, stealthy mic install, and everything works awesome (bluetooth and Apple car play yay)

But.... ...the sound is nowhere near the stock system, Ive messed with the EQ played with the "bass boost" it just lacks punch, disappointing,

Thoughts, experiences? The new system is 45 watts RMS X 4. Any ideas on the old system I believe it may be 240 watts total, not sure if thats max or RMS.

I also believe the stock system had an amp, was it integrated with the old stereo (ie sitting in a Kenwood box in my trunk).

Thanks peoples for any advice or thoughts you may have!

Appreciate it!

Without the ml amp it would sound terrible. I went with the pioneer for a good eq but ran through the ml amp and used a beatsonic 13l

Eeesh. So is that amp integrated into the Levison head unit on the SC?

Is this something the shop should have potentially recognized and we could have discussed a plan of action??

The OEM headunit is installed in the dash (as you well know) but the amplifier is in the trunk next to the NAV DVD player. They are under the raised portion of the trunk. You'll see the DVD access port there.

Are you saying that it sounds bad or just lacks the oomph of the OEM system?

That’s perhaps a better way if describing my primary complaint. Lacks oomph, no punch. The OEM system sounded fantastic. I will investigate if they perhaps didn’t connect the stock amplifier.

thanks again for the help everyone.
