Talking Did my dealer turn off TPMS light for free or by accident?

Hi guys, The dreaded TPMS light has been constantly on since last year on my 2004 SC430--as many of you, I have contemplated many solutions even some drastic ones. Today I had some services done at my local Lexus dealership: airbag recall, brake fluid flush and differential service. When I got the car, the freaking TPMS warning light IS GONE from the panel (see the picture). I drove about 10 miles home and the light was still off! I checked my service record, total cost was $277 (including 10% discount) but nothing about "re-setting" tire pressure. I mean, wtf, in a good way!

That would be illegal. They are not allowed to do that. Even if they could.

Obviously I am not accusing anybody of wrong doing. Just curious, what caused it to go off? All the information I have been able to find indicate, in order to turn the light off (in an early year SC430 model, before 2006?), you have to fix the broken sensor or sensors, or literally to unplug the wire.

Or it could have just burned out. Another possibility is that the cold weather was enough to push the TPS battery low enough to quit working and now that it is warmer, the battery has recovered just enough to work. If that is the case, it will die soon. The best way to check is to use a Techstream and read the battery voltages on them and see which ones are still alive if any are dead. (There are other tools that will read those, but most do not.)
