Default Current sc430 Values

Hey guys,

Just wanted to post this up for you guys as a reference if you’re thinking about selling your car anytime soon. I took mine to CarMax to see how it would go and they offered more than I was expecting.
Apparently used cars are moving quick now days so if you’re thinking about selling one of your other cars or the sc, now might be the time.

Just to give an idea of NZ prices

I paid $ 14.500 ( NZ) appox $ 9500 USA for a 2006 with 136,000 ks ( 85,000 miles ) in Feb 2020 , cambelt, water pump etc done @ 100000 Km. Oynx Black on Black
Overall condition , above average apart from aircon compressor needs replacing . I looked 3 before I bought this one ,nothing after 2006 , and most 01-05 , not many for sale here .

I can't view the video at work, however I hope the prices continue to go up. Plan on selling mine WAY down the line for a profit, take it to the show where the older guy and younger guy go to car shows and grade your vehicle between A - D. LOL.

I went to carmax 8 months ago with my 2006 sc430 with 148k and I was insulted they offered 4k. My car was mint. I sold my 2006 SC430 a month ago in 1 day. I had 4 people wanting to see it that day. I under estimated how desirable it would be. I got 8500.

What? You only got $8500 for a 2006 SC? Dealer offered $4K ? It’s insane.

I would value it at least $15K.

I know you said it’s mint but was the car has a history in any kind of accident?

$15k if it was 85k miles, maybe. I don't think our vehicles will appreciate in value. They are not that rare.

148k miles people chewed it down, it was valued at 10 to 11k on KBB in NJ. I had a tear in the driver's seat but clean carfax 3rd owner. Some dents on the outside nothing major. Carmax was 4k laughable.

Should have mentioned that this SC430 had 9,100K ion the odometer. Several high mileage (assumption) on Mecum could get over $5,500. Another sold for $12,500. Low miles rule.

I find that the SC is like artwork. You buy it because "you" like it. If it goes up in value then cool. If not, you still own something that you love.

Very cool, thank you! I think you’ll like one I have coming out in the next week or so... I picked up an Ls400 and am fitting 35” Mud Tires on it to go Python hunting in the Everglades. Should be pretty fun

LOL. I would love to get that for 4K. I wish CarMax would put an SC up for 4K. Clean Carfax and I would buy the car sight unseen for that price. However that is a pretty nasty tear in the driver's seat, did you do a cost comparison of getting it fixed the price before and after getting it fixed?

Python hunting? LS400 did you mean LX? Seems like things might be a little tight 3/4 guys going out looking for a python, finding it and bringing it back?

You read it right! Python hunting is important in FL. The government wants you to kill and report as many as you can... they are devastating the Everglades. Wiped out almost all mammal species there and have now turned their appetites on to our Alligators.

As far as bringing them back, you have to kill them on site and then bring them to a FL wildlife center where they can verify and measure the snake for their data. You can fit at least a few in a good size cooler in the trunk.

I’ll be building a Tuna Tower for the roof so the Ls400 should be able to hold 3/4 in the car plus a lookout on the roof. The hunting is done at night with very bright lights mounted on the car. The pythons become iridescent and almost glow at night under bright light so you can find them easier.

Here’s a quick preview:
