Smile Caramel seat exchange

First I must say how much I love my SC430. My friend keeps trying to get me to get a 911 cabriolet. Yea it's appealing but I have had this car for 10 years and it's got V8 performance with Toyota reliability. I'm a primarily luxury then performance. The Porsche is performance then luxury. It has 90K on it and considering age and mileage has few rattles. The hardtop convertible is wonderful. One day when I have more cash I want the Ferrari California since it to is a hardtop convertible.
My car is the blue mica with the caramel seats. The drivers seat has some minor cracking (nothing thru) and to be honest not bad for a 17 year old car. The passenger seat is mint. I am wondering if anybody has swapped out a passenger seat for the drivers. I know the power seat switches and lever would be off. I mean taking the cushion and leather off the frame and installing it on the driver seat. Has anyone ever done this?

no, because you cannot...it won’t fit...replacing the leather is not that expensive but can be a big job...see the link in the previous post.
there are threads on here showing the process...not sure what year you have but there is Saddle on the earlier models...I think, 2002-2005

Great link for new covers - quick question - I’m a new owner via my daughters car and we are looking to replace the carpet trim that is on the bottom of the drivers seat - its badly worn obviously from previous owners getting in and out - we cannot find anything online about replacement - I’ve even been looking for a used seats with no luck - any help? Thanks

the seats are in great shape just looking to replace the carpet on the bottom of the drivers seat. Drivers is dirtier than passenger which is normal but I am confident I will get it clean

Don, can you post a picture of the carpet, so we can see what you are dealing with? (I know what carpet you are discussing, just not the extent of the damage.)

Harold - I will post a picture of the drivers seat carpet condition when I get the car back - my mechanic is checking everything over, 100K service and MD inspection, should get it back tomorrow and I will post then. Best Don
