Default 2006 Nav disc issues

I have been reading multiple threads trying to work out how to fix my issue. I have a 2006 SC430 and am getting the NAV error "Please insert correct map disc". I ejected the NAV disc in there and put it back in and it didn't help. I pulled battery cables overnight and that didn't help. Lexus just replaced the main ECM for a different reason and I am not sure if that is related to this new problem. They are telling me the NAV ECU needs replaced and the issue has nothing to do with them replacing the ECM. Everything is stock on the car. It has the stock NAV disc from 2005. I am selling the car so I don't want to do any upgrades, just want the NAV working for the new owner. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It could be just a bad disk. You can pick one up on ebay for a few dollars. It's probably the cheapest thing to try.

Try to clean the stock disk and the player. It might help.

Really? The cheapest I saw was $98. Maybe I am using the wrong search terms?

DX3

Go to e-bay and search: North America New 2004,2005,2006,2007 Toyota Lexus Nav 2016 Map Update DVD Gen 4 U30 Version 15.1. $8.99. I would post the link but we cannot do that. This is the disk I ordered for my 06 when I bought it in Dec 18. I replaced the original version 05.1 with this one. It works great or mine does. This was the last update Toyota/Lexus put out for the Gen 4 Nav which is the one we have.

Dennis

Side Note: This is also the one I ordered to upgrade my son's 05 SC 430

I got mine for like $10, I posted who the ebay seller was in a thread on here. If you can't find it, I'll look it up for you. It works just fine.

I'm not posting a link to anything. I mentioned on another thread (a long time ago) what the name of an ebay seller was for the item I purchased.

Thank you all for your responses. I found the link and ordered the CD. If it works, great. If not, what is plan B? Thanks again,

Well if it is not the disk than I would guess it is the DVD player in the trunk?

I got the disc in and it did not help. I pulled the unit in the trunk and cross reference the part number. If you search specifically for the SC430 nav in the trunk then the average price is around $300 on ebay. If you search the part number you will quickly see a lot of Toyota/Lexus shared this same part number. A Prius for instance. I snagged a Prius one with the same part number and connectors for $88. Steal!! Hoping this will fix my issues. Will update when it arrives and I get it installed.

And now you have the latest Nav Disk update to go along with your new DVD player.

DJWLDW,
Do you use a similar DVD to update a 2002 model year? I searched all the DVD's on eBay and could not find one for that model. Thanks.

That disk should work in all Gen 4 Nav units.
