Default Iphone 12 Contact Transfer Question

I received my new Iphone 12 and have connected to the system via BT and it paired just fine and the system see's it when I select it but I cannot get it to allow me to transfer my contact list into the phone book. Is this a Iphone 12 issue or am I doing something wrong? It has the contact list in phonebook 2 for my wife's Galaxy 8 Note.

I am guessing you have the OEM radio and Nav units.

unpair all unused phones in the system

pair the new phone

allow the new phone to share its contact list with the car.

I did that based on a tip I got over on the LS Forum. It worked great on the LS but not the SC. I deleted both phones off of the SC and did like you suggested. It paired with the Iphone 12 just fine but would/did not transfer the contacts as I asked it to do?

Hate to say it, but it is very unlikely to work. Our system is antiquated and I have never been able to transfer contacts to the car. I have an 06 and my current phone is an S8. It never worked on the S4 and Motorola either. Good Luck!

Here is the post where I showed how to transfer contacts on a Samsung S6 and it also worked on her new Samsung Galaxy 8 Note into the SC 430 system. Hope it helps.

Back to the Iphone 12 issue. I deleted the iphone 12 as well as Linda's Galaxy 8 Note and cleaned out both phonebooks which are now empty. I repaired the Iphone 12 with no problems. It see's the iPhone 12 when you select phone. When I selected during the pairing to allow it to transfer contacts and hit the start transfer now it goes from connected to not connected on the phone every time. The transfer comes up on the Nav Screen and just sets there until the cancel light highlights and nothing. I cannot do anything with the 1 touch as far as inputting numbers. All the slots are empty and remain grayed out. Thoughts

Dennis, why would you want to use the NAV for phone conversation. I understand that you do have a FM transmitter with Bluetooth capability, so you very well can use your IPhone 12, unless you don’t like the IPhone contact list. I use the NAV just for back up camera, other than that, that unit almost useless. Well, it might be useful if you are in the area with no satellite signal and you have to use the map. I find that rarely is the case.

I don't use the phone in the SC and I almost never even open the Nav door. I just like the challenge of trying to make things work the way they were designed to. I guess I am real **** when it comes to stuff like that. It's like it was designed to work this way why can I not make it work this way? I like the challenge. It may not be the best side of me

Yes I am using the FM transmitter with my Iphone. It automatically pairs up when I get in the car. I hit iTunes on the phone and off I go. Works great.

Be safe and have a great Thanksgiving
