SC430 shifter slide cover ... replacement part
Does anybody know the part number for the SC430 shifter slide cover? It is the black plastic piece that covers the gap when moving the shifter from one position to another. I am guessing that the same part is used in other models, but I cannot seem to find a direct replacement number for a SC430 or cross-lookup anywhere. Thanks!

I think you are looking for the slide cover from assembly 33560, but unfortunately that subassembly and its parts don't appear to be available.
See https://parts.lexus.com/a/Lexus_2002...1450-3312.html
I did find the entire floor shift assembly https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/...550-24200.html but that is the entire subassembly and is $520
The equivalent part in a RX350 is the "cover, slide (for position indicator) 359750E030
https://parts.lexus.com/p/Lexus_2002...59750E030.html
I don't think that would be a drop in replacement, but it's a simple flat plastic piece that you may be able to modify.

You may have to check out junk yards or ebay sales to find it.

Might be better off fabricating the part out of something like https://www.amazon.com/12x12x-062-Pl.../dp/B07ZQRMRVV

You are right that the piece is 15 years old, but I would guess u are probably safe going with a used part. There are very few instances on this board of them breaking.
You can email this guy and see if they will sell u the cover https://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-2005-L...UAAOSw4shX6ud9

Looks pretty fabrication friendly to me. Not a stress bearing piece but just decorative cover.
It’s a relatively simple geometry with only the edge guide tabs being special. Those edge tabs bends can be done with some clamped wood pieces and a hot air pencil. Then cut the serrations to form tabs the size needed.

Mine is also damaged, the only solution found and painting it with a strong paint or adhesive, paint to my preference just protect the box information (P,R,N,D and + and -) with paint scotch

A recent trip to the dealer resulted in them scratching the shifter cover. I noticed it even before I pulled out and the service manager agreed to replace free of charge. I don't know where he got the part from, but it took about 10 days to come in and looks brand new. He said it wasn't cheap. I wish I had the old part, it wasn't scratched too badly, just not the way it was when I puled in.

SC430 Shift Slide Cover -Replacement sucess
This is my first post as new CL member, so apologies in advance if I’m going over old ground! I recently endured the frustrating and familiar shift slide cover replacement dilemma that so many other SC430 owners have faced.
After a lot of reading on the CL site (and others) and a couple of unsuccessful attempts at ordering guesstimate Lexus slide cover substitutes, I called the local Lexus dealer’s parts department in a last-ditch Hail Mary effort. To my amazement, the guy said, “Sure we’ve got it.”
When I asked why there was no part number for just the slider, he told me that in the case of the SC430 the shift housing was pretty unique. The “slide” is only sold as part of a shift housing sub-assembly with Part #35907-24030. (See pics)
The “sub-assembly” includes a new plastic base that the slider rides in, a new clear plastic illumination piece that sits atop the slider and a new bulb, with socket and wiring for the shifter. After some dickering I was able to purchase the slider and its other new parts for about 85 bucks. Ouch! But I had to fix that disintegrated slide cover! The slide cover measures 2-inches or 5 cm/50mm across. If one could find a slider with that measurement with matching toothed nubs underneath my guess is one might get away far more cheaply. Still – I fixed mi
ne; no issues. Take heart, the part(s) does/do exist! (#35907-24030) Sorry for the epistle!
