It sounds like you have a dead battery.

You're very welcome. The SC430 is not kind to batteries, however a battery going down after 6 months either means the battery was bad or there is another problem lurking in the background. Make sure that you don't have any cabin or trunk lights on to start with. If you find the battery dead again soon, you'll need to chase down the parasitic current drain.
Good luck and I hope that the new battery is all you need.

When was the last time you drove the SC. Many people here find that if you don't drive the SC for more than 3 weeks, the battery has run down to the point it won't start
If you have jumped started a car before and are confident you did it right, I would look for a loose battery cable. You probably would have found it when you put your new battery in. If the cable is loose, you can go to the autopart store and buy "Battery Shims." These will make the cables snug on the battery.
Another problem you may be experiencing is there is too much corrosion on the battery terminals.

If the battery is only six months old, simply do a recharge, the battery should be good. You should not have to purchase the new battery. I hope that you got the refund for the old one.

A battery tender is a good investment. Keeps the battery topped off. A Battery should last 5 years easy if maintained.
