Trans definitely has clutch packs that wear.

my Solara 6 speed shifted erratically at 150k miles. Drain and fill helped it quite a bit.

You seem to be totally missing the point. I have had mine done and I am not saying you are wrong. My background is engineering and you don't make a statement like the one I referenced without proof. My feeling is, the individual will not be able to provide any. There is a lot of emotional rhetoric about this subject. I just want someone to provide the evidence, that is not anecdotal, that supports the conclusion that transmissions are failing because fluid has not been changed. The local guy that is trusted is not proof. If you have that data please provide it.

You need to do your own research until you are absolutely satisfied that you are not doing unnecessary work it seems.

like I mentioned the ls460 trans shows service needed out of the USA. Here no.

No drain plug on sc’s as far as I know so I reverse flush machine may be needed.

my Solara benefited from it as did our ls.

With your background and lacking current written service requirement I would not change the fluid.

you could be the control tester to see how not changing the fluid works out over time?

do let us know.

You really need to read the response. I said I had mine changed.

0-30 on the 02 through 05 is a little quicker likely because of the 5 speed transmission. I noticed it when I drove a couple of them below 2006. However for 0-60 and beyond the 2006 and up with the 6 speed is definitely quicker.

I have been going through hell with replacement radiators for my 2006 and you could read about it in my thread if you were interested about it. My car is at 106 K miles right now and I do not like the lifetime fluid. But because I have to keep changing radiators I lose a little fluid each time so I plan to get a transmission service at Lexus in the next month or two which cost $549. I never trust any lifetime trans fluid.

when I change out the radiator I’m able to keep most of the fluid from dropping out with the little that does come out looks absolutely nasty. The transmission shifts and works perfectly but I still cannot see any benefit to keeping that fluid in there and never changing it!

It’s the one thing I hate about this transmission is the lack of a dipstick it’s a real pain in the *** in my eyes and causing me extra anxiety because I’m ready to swap the third radiator in now in less than a year and I will lose just a little bit of fluid again and will that be enough to make the car unmovable? I’ll be finding out soon!

I still like the 06 and up cars better however. The headlights and tail lights and other little odds and ends including the front end I like more personally.
