Wind noise
Hi, when travelling above 70kmph, my 2001 SC430 has a noticeable wind leaking into the car now. When I press against the inside rubber seal just above the side mirror, noise is reduced significantly. Instead of changing the entire seal, is there an elegant ( & cheaper 🤪 way to solve this ? Many thanks 🙏🏻

There might be a cheaper way, although I'm not sure it's more elegant: Try using some high-adhesive duct or similar tape that is reasonably close to the color of the interior trim around the seal. That might cover up the small air-leaks where you are getting the noise.

Problem is you're driving 70,000 mph.

Many thanks to all who responded. Will research on adhesive tape. Haha yes I live in Singapore so it is metric km. Yes indeed I should have used KPH the OP. Many thanks 🙏🏻

this is actually a common problem. google "clublexus sc430 wind noise" and you can find several creative fixes.

In my opinion, just replace the rubber molding surrounding the side-view mirror. It is a pretty easy job and there are some great guides on this web-site. I had wind noise and tried using some of the methods that are listed in some of the pages to make sure the noise was coming from the side view mirror. Once I had pin-pointed the noise was coming from the side view mirror, I replaced the molding on both sides and it was whisper quiet inside.
