Default Pie plates

When I purchased my 2003 sc430, it had the original pie plates on the wheels. I thought I would change the wheels with an inexpensive change to spoked inserts. However, when I received the spoked inserts, they had a gold tint to them and do not match or look very good when on the wheels. Anyone else have this issue?

Yes, the ones I have are that way, but they still look better than the pie plates IMHO:

i agree they look a whole lot better than the pie plates.

i bought my spoked inserts (star-twist covers) on ebay. the color match isn't exact but it's close enough for me. unfortunately, the center caps were smooth with no lexus logo. i ended up using vinyl stickers as center caps i bought from a company i learned about here on the forum. they were inexpensive so i ordered a set in silver and a set in black. i chose black for a little more contrast from the usual silver.

To each their own, but to me it looks like he--. I know that I have seen these spokes on other wheels and they are silver, not gold . Makes it look like a perfect match. Anyone have the silver ones matching the rest of the wheel?

Mine do match but I believe that mine came with the car. I'm the 3rd owner but I bought it when it was only 4 years old.

You could always paint them! Clean them, sand them prime them and several coats of rattle can!

Paint them to match your rims. Come close and you should be fine. Lots of spray cans out there.

Yep. Scratch them down with 800 grit abrasion pads and rattle can them. If you go accidentally go all the way down to plastic, use Bulldog to promote adhesion to plastic. You should not need to go that deep. Just give the existing paint good bite.

Thanks for the hints on painting. Didn't think I was in for a paint project when I purchased them.

Seeing as these twisters were not what I was expecting, I am selling them. PM me if you might be interested.
