Latest up date. Got to look at a seat at a salvage yard. On the passenger seat, the black plug on the seat harness is for the seat weight sensor. There was nothing to plug into. So, the shop is looking to see if the sensor cable is tucked into the seat pad and free it to plug into the harness.
by the sensor not being plugged in, would that keep the seat from not being able to move forward and back?

However, the sensor could be a "pass through" kind of circuit where it is needed to be hooked up to complete the circuit.

Okay, what would keep my seat from moving? When I plug the floor harness into the seat harness, the only thing that works is the lumber support motor. So, it is getting power. Seat worked fine prior to removal to recover them. Without movement I can’t eve re-install the seat.

Just to make sure I am not missing anything, how many fuses are there for the passenger side seat? I looked in the owners manual and see 3. Are there any I am missing?

Many thing can go wrong: the switches, the motors, the fuses, the harnesses, the gears....One thing you can do is to apply external power to the seat (I assume it’s still outside the car, right?), and figure out why the motor is not working. May be something has jammed the gears?

Also check for terminals backing out of the connectors in the wiring harness.

Update, still need help
Need help getting the passenger seat to move. I took it out to recover with new leather and now it will not move with the 8 way switch. Lumbar switch works. Fuses are good. In the photo below the test light shows power to the contacts in the red circle on the harness coming out of the floor. Second photo is the plug to the switch and the test light shows power to all BUT the one circled. A few days ago when I tested with the test light, contact with the terminals in the second photo moved the seat. This made me think it was the switch. Got a new one with no joy. Now touching the terminals does nothing but show power. No movement.

Did you study the seat diagram that digitac provided? I would spend sometime with it. I see a control ECU but don’t know where is it located. May be that is where the problem originated.

Is that connector housing melted?
