Jim, make sure the new TPMS sensors in the new wheels are from Toyota, each one is a different part number and color coded, Red, Yellow(Gold), Blue and White. This applies to the 2002-2006 SC430s
Rockauto.com shows several TPMS sensors but I cannot vouch for other brands. I only know the Denso is OEM

I am VERY unfamiliar with this issue, but hopefully I have given you enough info to google it, if you want a more detailed explanation.

Are you saying this because Discount Tire will tell you their sensors work, but after they put them in they say "Oh Wait, it turns out they don't match your 2002-2006 SC430?"

TechStream is awesome once you get it going but as many of us know, it can be a real PIA sometimes.
I hope Jim is able to get his TechStream up and running and to ensure they are shipping the correct TPMS sensors.

since the monitor doesnt even tell you if the pressure is high or lo and doesnt tell you which tire, why do they have corner coded sensors??? Seems stupid.
How do you rotate the tires?

Below is a pic of all the info the sensors produce.
note they show, ID, voltage, temp, pressure etc, but only a light on the dash…I wish it showed everything.
BTW, you can disconnect the TPMS system and the light will go out.
the procedure is located in the stickies

Since you have a 2006 your new wheels will not be able to just be mounted and everything will be fine. If you have been told this they are mistaken. Even if you get the correct TPMS installed you will have to register them with Techstream and I doubt that they will be the correct sensors. The sensors are not "corner coded". They can be rotated without issue. I have a 2006 and have done it many times.

No, I did not opt for re-chroming but I believe that they will do that (for a price). They mainly scraped along the interfacing zone. (I believe that they used the term grind, not scraped. For all I know, they used a wire brush on a drill.) Mine have been good for at least 2 years (maybe longer) since having it done. IIRC, it cost about $75 per wheel.

The TPMS are color coded. White, Red, Blue and Gold/Yellow not corner coded.

I'm in the DFW area. How about you, where are you located?
The place I used was All Star Wheels in Forney.

I am in Corpus Christi area...400+ miles away! Texas is big. Could have been worse like El Paso.
I misunderstood, I figured the coding was for the wheel position because the aftermarket screw on ones ARE coded for the wheel position. Thats not a problem when you screw them onto the valve stem from the outside.

Yes, the TPS are color coded and installed inside the wheel / tire assembly. However the Techstream will identify them by the color. The only way to identify which is which is to bring up the Techstream and then let air out of each tire, one at a time, and see which one went down in pressure. It's a pretty easy and quick process. Not the best system but keep in mind that it is 15 to 20 years old. It would be much nicer to have a monitor with a display that identified the sensors and their pressure (like the Orange Electronics ones and others). But we got what we got and make the most of them.

I bought the car a month ago and drove it home to Texas from South Carolina. On the way back that system saved my butt. After a drive of 1400 miles, just 30 miles from home, it indicated a problem. I pulled over and walked around the car and the right rear was obviously very low. I aired it up with the air pump in the trunk and finished the drive home without incident.

I agree Jim, the monitor is worth having! Back when you and I grew up, the tires were taller and softer and it was obvious when they were low. These low profile tires (especially the run flats) are much harder to tell when they are low. I appreciate having them.
