Default Using U-haul car trailer

I should be picking up a new to me 2002 SC430 mid-next week. Plan is to trailer it back home (about a 4 hour drive).

I can't find ground clearance values, but highly suspect the ramp angle will need help to load the car -- front end height, and maybe even mid-car scraping where the ramp joins the trailer.

Anybody with experience that can suggest how much lift I need given the loading area is flat?

Looking online at a video of a Corvette I'm thinking that two thicknesses of a 2X8 should be enough of a help.

TIA,
Lee

What is the reason that you can't drive it home?

Since the seller and I are having a hard time coordinating schedules, I lost my planned co-driver.

Can't drive two vehicles back, and the couple of car haulers I contacted wanted between 5 and over 10 times the cost of renting a trailer. I thought one guy was joking when he said $1300. It's only about 200 miles.

I brought mine home on a U-Haul Auto Transport with no problems at all. When I bought the car I was across the state and by myself, shipping was to expensive and time consuming.

It only cost me $230 for a one way ticket from Texas to South Carolina and the seller picked me up at the airport and boarded me for two days while we just talked cars
