Default TPMS Question

So I calculated what my tire pressure should be on my aftermarket rims/tires using this site: https://tiresize.com/pressure-calculator/

It came out to 39psi front / 27 psi rear. My question is if I drop the rear to 27psi, is the OEM tpms going to trigger the light thinking it's too low for the OEM pressure of 33psi?

If so, is there a way to reprogram the "Expected" psi with techstream?

The TPMS should be reset by pressing the button at the very bottom of the steering column shroud until the light flashes. This will lock in the tyre pressures you have at that moment. It will then monitor for the pressure you instructed it to look for.

I don't know if that may be something that is available outside the US, but I looked in the manual and in the car and can't find any button at the bottom of the steering column.
Mine is an 06. Maybe later years had that feature.

I just looked on my 06 and I don't see any button. Brooksy, do you have a pic of this button?

There is no such thing in my 07 SC. It does, however, have a button for Main or Second set of TPMS. It’s located on the underside panel, next to the OBD port, right side.

My car is a 2014 IS hybrid, UK specification with the steering wheel on the correct side, just like the Japanese. On older models there has to be a TPMS reset somewhere surely?

I have the same thing, do you happen to know where the parameters for the main or second set are configured? I'm guessing techstream, but haven't had time to hook it up and look. I didn't see anything in the manual.

I’m sorry for mis-informed you guys in previous post. My 07 does have a SET button for initializing new tire pressure which I was mistakenly said it was Main and Second selector switch. There is also a button on the underside of the glove box for selecting Main or Second set of tires.
So, as in the instruction in the owner manual that BGW has posted, you can teach or initialize the TPMS with tires pressures that suit your SC condition. And I think it’s applied to all SC’s.

would you mind snapping a pic of that button?

I just want to make sure I don't have it on my 06. usually the 06 has more in common with the later models than the earlier ones.

They are exactly as in the manual that BGW has posted. The SET button is on the underside, left of steering column, next to the OBD port. The Main/Second button is on underside of the glove box. Both are only visible if you lay down and look up.

I don't have it (as expected). As long as I can set it with Techstream, that's fine.

The system changed from 06 to 07 so the button is not there on 06 back.

Joe, sorry to hear that 06 SC don’t have the SET button. I don’t think you can set the pressure parameters with TechStream. TechStream only reads and reports the actual pressure in your tires. I hope I am wrong on this. BGW can offers his opinion.
