hahahahaha…I know I hijacked his thread but I just couldn’t resist…please forgive me.
You have to understand, I live in the mountains of western Virginia and southern West Virginia. I see this all the time. Anyway, this thread was begging to get hijacked. To the OP, most of us are in our 60s and 70s, I doubt if any hat will make most of us look cool. If someone finds one, I want 2.
I've got a couple of these that I used in my S2000:
Seems like they will work just fine for the SC430.
Fitting and proper, Sir.
I have found, like a baseball cap, if you stick your head too far above the windshield, the wind will suck it right off of your head. Turning either around may look dorky, but the hat stays on your head.
I go with a super-wide brim hat, as I'm super-white and have to go in for annual skin checkups where they burn off (freeze off) all the per-cancerous growths on my face/scalp. But generally, my favorite top-down weather is summer evenings, after the sun goes down, so I can rock my numerous baseball caps (to keep my beautiful locks from self-blow-styling into a Bozo-the-Clown look)!
haha thank you all for the entertaining replies. I have had compliments from several females 50+ on the car, and one friends wife, who sort of danced when i lowered the top.
The look is everything. I agree the best look is the wind in hair and sunglasses and the best top down time is dusk/evening. Should be okay most year round here it's so mild. Living at the beach though I get too much sun already, and of course one must look after oneself.
The baseball cap could work, it just needs to be right. Nothing too fresh you know. With my sideburns and saltyness someone suggested i look like capt quint from Jaws who had a wonderful old cap himself.
I might also try my felt fedora. That is probably a great vibe...
