Default Full size spare tire question

Can anyone confirm if a full size spare tire will lay flat in the trunk and still allow the convertible to open?

thanks

Nope. The tire will not fit in the trunk with the cover pulled.

Maybe these pictures will help you. The curtain shows you the maximum height of storage, basically none below it, except right next to the spare. The spare tire is much thinner than the standard tire for the SC430 and you can see how little space there is between it and the curtain.

This is a picture of the SC430 spare tire kit installed.

This picture shows just the spare tire itself and how little room there is.

will a full size fit if the cover is not pulled closed
this for my daughter who is away at college with no current spare tire. Just wondering if you can transport the full size tire to the repair shop with the flat tire in the trunk

also what is the recommended small size spare tire for this car?

If you don't drop the top and the cover is not pulled closed, yes, it will hold a full sized tire.

Spare tire is 145/70R17, bolt pattern 114.3x5
