Default Front Rotor Replacement Thoughts

It is getting to be time to replace my front rotors and I was looking for any opinion about what I should replace them with.
I can go anywhere from OEM Replacements for ~$40 each to over $100 for drilled and slotted.

I am pretty sure the car will never do 200 mph unless I push it out of an airplane and at that point brakes are kind of irrelevant
I am running 2007 OEM wheels so it isn't like anyone will ever see drilled and slotted rotors

That being said, does anyone have real world experience saying I should spend more money for Drill and Slotted Rotors or should I just find a nice set of OEM quality Ceramic Pads and Rotors

Yes, regular rotors. No, don't get the cheap ones... Hit up your local dealer for factory spec rotors. Thank me later....

FYI, OEM replacements will not be 40$... That is aftermarket of unknown quality. OEM will probably be more than the slotted/drilled, and function better.

I have had Centric premium on the front of my SC for about 8 years. I have seen no difference in the Centric vs OEM. Do not get drilled and or slotted.

Would highly recommend Akebono ACT619 ceramic pads with Bosch rotors......this combo has been the best set up I've ever had and there are many others on the club that have the same experience...and no, I don't work for either company........good luck

I've used centric premiums on a few vehicles, including currently on the rears of my SC with LS430 rear caliper upgrade (supra TT rotors). They're excellent quality and dirt cheap. Slotted/cross drilled are a waste of money and are more prone to cracking. On the Miata forums they recommend blank rotors for the track cars because too many drilled ones were cracking on track day.

If you want a small bump in braking performance you could go with a porterfield r4-s (I've run these on multiple cars and love them) or hawk hps pads, if you want a big bump you could go with LS400 calipers/rotors or the LS460/430 XAT brackets (that's what I have).

rockauto usually has good prices and a 5% coupon code, but you pay shipping. Compare the model numbers to amazon, sometimes it comes out the same/cheaper with free shipping on amazon.

I've put high performance Power Stop brake components on two vehicles now and am very pleased. Got them through Rockauto

The break in routine is interesting though....

Lexus/Toyota, in my view, has few weaknesses as a car manufacturer. But one of those is certainly brake rotors. I’ve had 5 vehicles from this manufacturer, going back to 1994. Warped/hot-spotted front rotors from them, across all five cars, must be in the dozens.
So OEM brake parts ain’t nothin’ to get excited about.
