Help identify
This is in the box of the 2005 I purchased 2 weeks ago. It clearly fits the plug under the steering wheel, but I don't know it's purpose.

I don't know if that is for the pictured device.
Also, Verizon acquired Hughes Telematics ten years ago and the HowStuffWorks link is even older, so it's probably all obsolete...
