bluetooth adapter
I recently purchased a 2006 SC430. Absolutely love the car. A bluetooth connection to my iPhone would enhance the experience. has anyone found a simple solution?

I also have an 06 and purchased a ROAV Model R5111. It is a FM transmitter and I plug it into the power port in the center consul and tune it to a FM station. It works great and allows me to play my Itunes on my Iphone 12 through the system. Here is a link

I also purchased one for my son for his 05 and he has a Samsung smart phone.

There are three different Bluetooth adapters for our car right now.
I've had a GTA Car Kit installed in a 2005 Pilot for several years. It works fine, but it's a bit old and a lot of times my Android phone will connect to it, but not play music through it unless I toggle it on and off.
I live a an area with a lot of radio stations so the FM transmitter route is not viable for me.
I'm on the fence deciding between the GTA and Grom versions.
Good luck

There is also a new player to the Bluetooth arena for the SC430, SC430mods. They have one for about $80.

They also carry other useful adapters for the SC430.

I also have an FM transmitter BT adaptor. Bought at WallyWorld for $15 or so. Hidden in the center armrest console (using the cigarette lighter socket in there). I did run a short USB cable from it to the seat area to provide phone power for long trips. I use the SiriusXM app on the phone, with pretty widespread connectivity via Wifi. Sound quality is that of FM radio; there's a thread in here somewhere that discusses sound quality via various connections.
I tried Echo Auto, but it did not work well with top down, and was a data hog for Nav apps (for spoken directions) and I do not have unlimited data plan.
I first tried installing an Alpine iLX-W-650; not too difficult if you are patient. However, neither Android nor iPhone would work for me. Alpine said there can be USB cable issues, but multiple tries did not work. Purchasing from Crutchfield is highly recommended, for their excellent phone support and return policy--they even credited the non-reusable dash mounting kit I sent back!

I also purchased a Bluetooth adapter for my 2002 SC430 and it works great. My only issue is there is no microphone, so it is difficult to have a conversation. Anyone know where I can get a microphone?

The 2005-2010 years SC430 have bluetooth, so pairing a phone for handsfree phone calls is straightforward without any adapters. Call comes in, music volume automatically turns down, car microphone is near the mirror.
To play music from a phone, a bluetooth to FM or wired adapter is needed. Wired adapters come (usually) with a microphone which you stick somewhere on the dashboard and run the wires to the adaptor.
Another alternative may be to burn recordable CDs from your music collection favorites. Once you get tired of those six CDs, make more. That also creates a hardcopy backup which won’t vanish into the cloud.

I've been using a GTA for years. I tried Bluetooth in the past, lots of problems with adjusting stations because of interference from FM stations. No doubt Bluetooth has improved but you really can't beat hard wiring. GTA are more expensive and require a lot more work to install but the results are great. Check their web site for the video install.
