Hello fellow Lexus enthusiasts,
Regrettably, we crashed our beautiful 2006 sc430 pebble beach edition, tigers eye & camel last night in Miami. Our car was in pristine condition (until now) and I’ve had different advice from people- some saying I should tow it home to Tampa (275 miles) to try to sell it myself- others say I should abandon it to the towing company- of course we have insurance... but I’m not sure the best course of action. The body has been banged up, makes me so sad to see it- but the car was amazingly safe & nothing touched us inside. The windows are still all unbroken & the airbag did not go off. Interior is perfect. No engine fire. What do you all think would be my best bet? Maybe I can sell it in Miami? Who would this car be appealing too? Just looking for advice from some knowledgeable people! Thank you in advance, and I will try to post some pics next..

So sorry to see that segray. I'm glad to see that none were hurt.
First thing that I'd do is to check with your insurance company to see what they are going to offer you for the car. I don't even know what "abandon it to the tow company" means financially. Will they buy it from you?
Definitely get whatever you have in the car out that you want to keep before it disappears.

Auto body shop can easily restore to the original condition, however, there are things need to be considered.
1. Damage to the roof operation. If the roof is inoperated, I say dump it.
2. Your car now have a record. It will affect the resale.
3. How much the insurance willing to pay out compare to the current value of your SC.
Good luck .

I am guessing it will have a salvage title if put back together. I have the same SC less the PB addition badge.

it will probably be totaled by insurance, but depending on how much you are willing to spend is very much restorable. unless the frame is bent, or, as others mentioned, the roof does not work, then it wont make much sense..

I agree but there is no way the insurance company is not going to total that 15 plus year old car. The clean trade in value is only $10,800. The Retail value is only $15,xxx
