Here's a weird one.
I have an SC430 parts car, interior and all is immaculate (low mile wreck used for drivetrain). I don't recall if it came with a key or if one of my techs lost it.
Is there a way to bypass the key (there's nothing to start lol) to test the nav/audio in ACC mode? I haven't torn into tech software yet to see if there is a way.
Does anyone know of a way to bypass the key, short of jamming a flat head into the column?
All my other spare lexus keys are from newer keyless cars
Could pull the ignition switch off the key mechanism and turn it with a screwdriver. But why not get a key made from the VIN.
Simply, I don't want to spend 150$ on a key for a car that is getting scrapped by spring time.
These are just left over cars, and an 07 GS450h in the background which I've failed to sell much of anything from over the last few years. So I won't make the same mistake with this one. Whatever doesn't sell by spring/summer, i'll get cats & scrap value!

Didn't realize it was that much. I had a key made at Lexus a long time ago but can't remember how much it was couldn't have been much or I would have remembered. See no reason why you can't unscrew the ignition switch and rotate manually, might have to press the key sense switch as well.

The screwdriver might be your best solution.
According to this very low quality video, your key has to be in the acc position to get the lock assembly out. However this video is from a ls400 (Though the same applies to an is300)
If you just want to test the nav, it might be best to pull it out and apply 12v to the motor (unless u want to test the entire system, then ignore my suggestion)

I'll try that, i want to test the audio/door actuators and ML amp. These are the items everyone has asked me about so far.
