Luxlink
Open question to all:
Would there be any interest in a Luxlink clone? We have sufficient technical expertise here in the forum, that we could probably reverse engineer the Luxlink if interested and we could find someone with one that would allow it to be dissented.
Alternatively, has anyone contacted the original manufacturer about possible open sourcing the original Luxlink?
Reading all the capabilities that it brought to the table, I'd pony up for one if available. I missed the one in the for sale section although the $1k ask would have been a big gulp.
Thoughts?

You could call Steve Larsen at luxury motorcars in Monrovia, ca and discuss this with him?
you are correct unfortunately as the luxlink is definitely the cherry on top of the ice cream as far a adding even more usefulness and enjoyment to the experience of owning and driving the SC430.
The quarter window control and the Cabriolet wind blocker allow the car to have a very still airflow in the cabin if desired. Greatly extends the weather envelope that top down can be used and enjoyed(wife gets chilled on freeway drives).
the ability to use the top up and down without holding the button for the entire time and to be able to externally operate the cars top and remote start it is the way Lesus should have made the car in my opinion after not having it then having it.
there were three generations of the lux link. Some had i think no quarter window control?
i think Steve had a circuit board made?
I saw the sale and almost bought that one as as spare but passed so someone else could expand their ownership enjoyment experience.
the unit does require some soldering type installation to tap into the drivers door key lock and unlock button on the door panel as the units use causes the cars computer to be out of sinc at times.
if you operate the quarter windows for the next five minutes the cars engine will not turn off unless you operate the unlock function three times from the external key lock or the drivers door panel unlock three times.
nature of the beast. Took me a trip back to luxury motorcars and havre Steve splain it to me again…..

While there are a lot of new owners, I'm not sure how big the demand for this would be.
I did call Steve at Luxury Motor Works today. He was surprised that the LuxLink was still a topic on the forum. He doesn't appear to have any interest in making another batch for a car that's been out of production for a dozen years. He doesn't even have the old install guides available.

maybe someone can contact the Russian guy who made the a similar module to Luxlink and make an offer. Last I've heard, it's around $200.
