Default Tools that have saved my day!

Tools that you may need once or twice that saved the day. Well worth having them. Saves you a trip to Harbor Freight!

Agreed. Also add to that wobble extensions and long needle nosed pliers. Small mirrors (dental or compacts) help with seeing around corners where heads and eyeballs can't go.

I totally agree, especially the right angle screw driver. Its weird how all the tool kits never include any of those, though they are some of the most helpful tools around.

Magnetic pick-up tool.
I don't seem to be able to do a job without dropping a part in some nearly inaccessible spot, or alternately where I have to pull off the under-engine splash shield.

I do a lot of vehicle electrical work so this is my favorite tool with all of the newer cars and their super thin gauge wire.
Thermal wire strippers make things neat and easy.

Love this thread! With the exception of the thermal wire strippers (which I now want!) I own all the tools mentioned thus far, and hundreds more--too many to list. I've inherited tools from my grandfather, father, and bought them all my life. It brings me great joy to use tools! I'm dreading the day when I'm too old and feeble to use them anymore, but, such is life! Unfortunately, my son has little interest in tools, maybe because he has always had me to fix things for him.
