I've had a set of Craftsman Torx sockets for years, but have yet to find a use for them. It's good to know there is a potential here on the SC exhaust system! The Amazon set looks like a great deal for $11.00. Too, they look to be impact quality. I might have to spring for a set as my Craftsmans are merely chrome vanadium. However, I may be suffering from TAS (tool acquisition syndrome). The problem is, my Lexus and Toyota vehicles are so darn reliable, I rarely need the large collection of tools I already own!
My problem is I have tools I am to old to use any more.
I'm going on 67-years-old, and doing less wrenching then I use to. In part, to prolong my wrenching days since I retired, I keep in shape by doing 2-3 hrs of morning exercise, 5 days a week. When I was working, I was lucky to get in 45 min, and noticed a shortage of muscle and stamina when taking on automotive projects. Core strengthening, stretching, calisthenics, and free-weights all help in being able to crawl around and underneath a vehicle, break lose frozen fasteners, and sometimes twist oneself into a pretzel for access!
The side benefit of keeping in shape is living a healthier, longer life (I hope)! And a final thought...the mental challenge of working on autos is great for brain plasticity, which should help keep dementia at bay (although, after reading some of my posts, others may disagree).
