Recently, I pressed the button to close the wood dash, stereo cover door only to have the door and button stop working. Is there any way to manually get this door open without doing damage to the dash?
I am unable to listen to my stereo, and I am at a total loss. Just getting the door open would be a great relief and feat. I miss having music.
At some point, I would like to have this feature fully repaired(not just opening the door), but wonder what that would entail and about how much that would cost. Diagrams and any advice or experience with this issue is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Usually that is caused by the switch wires coming loose for the door. You just need to pop up the cover and reattach the wire.
It could be the motor and that would be a different solution
if you want to turn on your stereo, hold down your steering wheel button marked MODE. After about 5 seconds it will turn on your radio. You can change channels and volume using your steering wheel buttons.
If your door doesn't open, you can usually push on the top part of the door and it will flip open without too much resistance. If you do get resistance, Stop pushing. You don't want to mangle your gears.
Watch the first minute or so of this video and you can see how to access your switch wires. It is literally a 40 second fix
