strength of closed trunk
I have been asked to use my 2006 SC-430 in a parade with a young lady sitting between the rear seats on the trunk with legs inside, (top down of course) Is this a safe place to sit in a slow parade and will I hurt my car?

A soft blanket folded a number of times will protect the paint and spread the weight over a space of about a cubic foot (144"). So then she will be putting about 1# per square inch adjoining one edge. That's not much.

I’d take the high road and better be safe than sorry, I’m thinking clumsy teen with high heels and soft leather seats. Ooops!! Sorry, just my opinion. After all, it’s your car.

I agree with SeaStories. I would not be putting some 200 lbs of there.

Why risk it? If the girl or the car got hurt, your insurance might not cover it. Have her ride in the passenger seat where she belongs. Or, do they want her out of reach of the driver?

Just read the other posts. Whales can find a tank for transportation. Let the mermaids travel in style.
If she isnt a doll, then she can get in a hyundai. They are dogs of cars and probably appropriate.

Your rear hatch is made of Aluminum, easily dented and can not take much downward load. I would be wary of having somebody sit on it.

Well, the problem is solved.
Three possibilities:
1) blew a tire yesterday and may take a while to get the size I need
2) Looks like rain
3) Has to ride in passenger seat because I am not removing the wind deflector
She is small, georgeous, but mother wants to ride in back seat.....................
