Problem Solved!!!
I finally broke down and ordered a "tested" ML amp on ebay that comes with a 30-day warranty. It arrived yesterday and I installed it. Stereo works beautifully now and sounds awesome! Hopefully, it will provide some good years of use. It was the same part number as the old amp.
I called United Radio, thinking of sending my amp there, but they are working on a 6-8 week backlog so I decided to go the ebay route.
When I had everything apart in the trunk I could see the paper cone (but not the foam surround) of the subwoofer and it looked in really good shape. I'm hoping the rest of the speakers are as well because I know there is a deterioration problem over time with these speakers.
Thanks for all your help and contributions to my learning curve of the SC 430.

Congratulations and thank you for let us know. Your experience will help others. I assume that it’s easy to remove and replace the amp. Again, thanks.

your cooler climate may prolong the speakers but mine are shot in the 2007 SC430 with ~55k miles.
I replaced the rear and door woofers with repaired spares I had ready to go but didn’t have a spare sub-woofer.
the system sounds amazing again, even without the sub.
I just ordered this repair kit for US$55 and will repair all five speakers.
