Oh man, fancy new headlights!!!!
I'm sure there will be a massive jump in refinement vs the old model, just like how it was when they introduced the current model back in 2006 or so. Still, I see this being more of an evolution of the current formula, not a massive revolution.
The jump from TJ to the current JK was a massive revolution, 4 doors, lots more room, luxuries such as power windows, power door locks, remote start, keyless entry, leather heated seats, touch screen radios/navigation/xm radio/bluetooth, lots more sound insulation, smoother ride(a lot of that due to the increased wheelbase on 4 door models).

Wonder what an EcoDiesel would net if it were offered.

According to the EPA, the current Wrangler Unlimited with the 3.6-liter V6 and six-speed manual clocks 16 miles per gallon in the city, 21 on the highway, and 18 combined. The 2018 version with the same six-speed manual comes in at 17/23/19. Switching transmissions, the current model with the five-speed automatic hooks up 16/20/18, the 2018 model with an eight-speed automatic does 18/23/20.

So Faahhnncy!!! Until you sling mud all over the place in it lol. Seriously though, give Jeep credit for building what the market wants, its still a no bs off road vehicle for the traditionalists, but does have the modern electronics/conveniences that the mall crawler crowd wants.
Also you couldn't pay me to buy a Wrangler with a diesel engine in it, even if it did get 50mpg and unicorn farts came out the exhaust. If I had one of these, around where I live it would be top off, doors off 6 months of the year. That diesel clatter/racket would drive me nuts. And don't give me crap about diesels being more refined/quiet now days, in something like a Benz E-class with 500lbs of soundproofing, it can trick you. Something like a convertible, even one of these new diesels is going to be LOUD.

Yes very nice touch linking the interior color to the exterior, shows some attention to detail there. Overall, I'd like to really consider this as my next vehicle to replace my now aging Acura TSX. Though I'd like to know first whether I can live with it day in and day out (MPG, Highway Noise, Reliability).

I enjoyed having a Wrangler for a few months a few years back. I keep seeing so many modified ones and they look amazing. I wouldn't mind getting another one in a few years. Only things I have an issue with are: the turning radius and the gas consumption.

A while back I was excited for the Wrangler to finally, at long last, get a turbo-diesel 6-speed manual 4x4 2-door trim level or at least a 2.0L turbo four cylinder 6-speed manual 4x4 2-door trim level with better fuel economy than the old V6.
Alas, we will get neither and if you want a manual 4x4 Wrangler you still have to use that 3.7L V6.
On the other hand looks-wise inside and out the 2018+ Wrangler has me sold.
