I would test power before assuming it is a part that needs to be ordered. The USB port has an outer piece that is the ground (what my black lead is on). I tied a 22 gauge wire to the positive tester lead to fit it in there.
tecman: Do you know if the cup holder piece also swaps really easy once you have pulled up piece in your video? I incurred some damage on the wood piece cover and found a perfect used one for less than 1/4 of the new price of $450+ new. I think it does from FSM. I need to check out the thread on the USB port install for rear passengers as I think that part was removed too.
EDIT2: It am pleased that whole console comes apart as easily as it does. To remove the center cupholder assembly all you have to do is slightly lift up the panel with the gear shift, pop out the side covers maybe 3 tabs, lift up the center store cover and pull straight up. There is the electrical connector for the cupholder lights but that seems to be the hardest part of this easy process.
Hey guys - so I bought the USB power tester off of ebay, and it appears there's no power coming from the USB/aux port. So what does that mean? Wiring issue? Replacing the adapter would not help then?
You probably have to meter it out up the line. The console opens up pretty easily. You may want to see if the connector just got disconnected from underside of auxiliary USB jack

If it was working jack, wonder if a device drawing too much current was plugged into it. As mentioned trace the wire (or ribbon cable) all the way to USB controller.
How would I know if the adapter itself is broken or not, and simply not passing the power through? And what do I look for when I trace the wire back to the USB controller? Just to see if anything is unplugged? I did open it before and saw that it was plugged to the adapter, though I didn't trace it all the way back to the controller.
I'd like to resurrect this and ask about the console cover that's silver on base models like the one in the video. I have found a replacement cover I think and wanted to know how easy it would be to replace? Attached the boot, buttons and whatnot, right? Are is it all one unit? The one I have now is scuffed up and damaged.
