Lexus dropped the price on the hybrid. About time if you ask me.

just read some of the motortrend review on the new rxl.

this amazed me:

Overall, the maximum amount of cargo space in the regular RX 350 is 56.3 cubic feet (with second-row seats folded), whereas Lexus says the max in the RX 350L is 58.5 cubic feet (with second- and third-row seats folded).
so $4400 extra for 2.2 cu. ft of cargo and REALLY REALLY cramped 3rd row seats?

How about selling it this way: 40% more seats/seat-belts for only $4400 (10-ish %) more!

I discussed this with the Lexus reps at the D.C. auto show last week. Part the problem is that Lexus took the simple, cheap way out, simply reworking the existing seats inside the current interior, and did not actually lengthen the wheelbase for the RX-L model like they probably should have. Of course, that would have cost a lot more, but the results would probably have been a lot more satisfactory.

Yes, the RX-L's total length is slightly longer overall (4.4")......but, without moving the position of the wheel-wells to compensate somewhat for the loss of second/third-row legroom, the basic reason for the cramping inside is obvious.

Yes a longer wheelbase at the very least would make access to the third row easier.

They'll still sell a bunch to those who want a step up from a highlander.

It’s the same wheelbase as the Highlander, but a few inches longer in overall length. I wonder how it compares for 3rd row room.

When we traded our 3RX in we probably would have bought this had it been available at that time.

For reference, that's just 50% more than the current-generation Miata, 60% more than the last generation. This is your bar for Luxury SUV cargo-carrying capacity, everyone:

Here's a life-size, cutaway view of how they did the seating and cargo area.
