Lexon Takes the IS F And Widens It in Japan
By Brett Foote

Lexon takes an already aggressive looking car and turns it up to 11.

Now that's how you do wide body, not that sorry cheap looking rivets style. In few more yrs when that rivet style is know longer envogue the car looks dated. But if you molded them and done right timeless like Airvtec F.

Yup. It's 2018, you'd think with all these bodykit manufacturers that someone could actually develop an actual front fender and rear body kit that compliments the factory design cues.

A true widebody is impossible to come by but damn are they impressive if done correctly. Most of it comes from the craftsmanship itself. Not cutting out a rear quarter panel to rivet on a plastic flare.

I looked at all the mods done to this car in the link. None of it is something I would choose to do, but that's just me. Stance and tuck are fashionable, and will look dated soon enough.

Rumor has it there is a shop in Atlanta with a full set of molds for a Supra metal widebody. That would truly be awesome on an IS F. If not that, carbon fiber parts - front and rear quarters that achieve additional width and allow wider rubber. Lexon put what I think are narrow tires for a widebody kit - 255F/295R. If I had that much room, I'd be trying to get something over 315 on all four corners. I've had Supra track guys say the Supra needs 315s on all four corners, and they only weigh 3400 - 3500 lbs. Anyway, I can dream...

It's a waste of a widebody if the additional space isn't used for max grip. Trends these days are stupid. They ruined a nice ISF for slow stuff.

I'm curious if the metal widebody at that shop is anything close to factory body lines.
I'm only running 275/315 R888s on my Supra. Will be going 285/30 next but it would be nice to have a square fitment. I'm chasing grip like my PIckup. Went from 205s to 295s on each corner.

They look OK, but I don't see the point of reclining seats if you're going "race" because no race car has reclining seats. Maybe saving some weight, but other than that, not much gained IMHO.

^ Considering how nice and comfortable ISF seats actually are, I don't think reclinable Brides are worth putting into a street ISF...

Especially one that's.... stanced... LOL
