Let's face it, for as glorious as the Lexus 5.0L V8 has been throughout the years, its days are likely numbered. How many years are left before the LC500 powertrain becomes the 3.5L TT V6 unit from the LS500? I suspect if and when a forced induction V8 adds an F flavor to the LC, that the LC500 base engine will be the LS500 unit. Any guesses or opinions?
3.5L TT V6 unit puts out 416hp and 442lbft.
5.0L V8 rated at 471hp and 398lbft in the LC.

To be honest, until they have an engine that has been proven and perfected, they'll keep that V8. Japanese manufacturers in general have always been very reliable because they always have used proven and tested components with a few tweaks here and there for every upcoming model lineup. Example: 3.7L VQ engine from Nissan/Infiniti - that engine has been around for over a decade before they just replaced it with the V6 3.0L TT. Same goes for Lexus, with the 5.0 L V8 - they have different versions of it, but in this case - for the LC (2UR-GSE) - it's been around for a decade for all different types of F model applications.
They might throw in the TT V6 3.5L for the next gen base LC (if there is one) with some higher output. This is if they don't decide to just stay with the LC-F instead. I would think if they do use the new TT, then it will be for the next gen - meaning at least 3-4 years from now.

Well Mercedes AMG dropped their wicked & proven naturally aspirated 6.3L V8 to a smaller biturbo 4.0L V8. BMW dropped to smaller turbo 8 and 6 models. I'm sure Lexus will do the same sooner than we think.
