Since we are talking about down-pipes I saw this post on IG this morning from a company called Zen Tuning.

Looks almost identical to my PPE, but might be cheaper in price.

When paired with the stock mid-pipe and axle back there's no drone. This is my old setup which i will be returning to lol. There is a slight "rasp" sound at low rpm since you are eliminating those 2 catalytic converters, but overall it is super quiet and sleeper like. You get a lot of drone because the addition of that mid-pipe and axle back.

The OEM mid-pipe and axle back has decent flow, but the down-pipe is the major restriction. When Daniel and i compared our results he had a slight power increase with his full turbo back exhaust, but like you said drive-ability wise it probably felt a lot more responsive for sure.

No thanks. I'll just do the HPS intake tube and BMS filter for that price.

Price is definitely steep, but for those looking for an aftermarket intake without the open filter design then this is it. I’ll stick with my F Sport filter and HPS tube.

I am running the Zen tuning prototype downpipe and it is super high quality and is great. I made around +14whp and +15wtq with just the downpipe and no tune on a mustang dyno. This is their second gen downpipe I'll let know about results when I get the new one installed. They are great to work with and it has been a pleasure doing the testing for them to get their downpipe on the market.

Good stuff! The down-pipe is the best exhaust modification for our cars, once you get a tune you’ll get to enjoy it fully. I still think that the Zen Tuning down pipe looks too similar to the PPE. Do you have any pictures of the prototype that’s on your car?

agreed those are some of the mods on my list after the bms tune
but if also heard people use another muffler instead of a resonator like the magnaflow straight through design

My issue with it is the low surface area of the filter and most of the time these “custom” air boxes actually flow worse than factory. The AFE made less power on my old Silverado compared to an intake tube replacement and air filter (retained factory air box).
