Excited with a little anxiety at the same time toying with this but it appears pretty easy to revert back if needed. I'm heading out of town tomorrow until Tuesday so this may be my Saturday (2/24) project assuming the parts have all arrived at that point.
I signed up for a forum account on that Prado Russian site since there are some attachments you can't see otherwise.
I found something interesting that at least gives me higher confidence this is going to work. Bear in mind this overall thread dates back to like 2012 IIRC so later model years just are just not included yet. This posting states the 4,5 and 6 from bottom are the compatible skid control ECUs that will easily convert.
These following numbers don't show up on my ABS unit:
47217-60130
47217-60131
47217-60132
If we look those parts up we see 47212-60130 it is the number for the ABS unit for a 2010 GX
"GX460. Without reverse camera. Without adaptive cruise. Without precrash system, without back monitor."
If we look those parts up we see 47212-60131 it is the number for the ABS unit for a 2011/2012 GX
Now not having the reverse camera is notable but this is an ABS unit for a de-contented GX model somewhere. AFAIK all in North America have a backup camera.
EDIT: Other countries GX is sold besides US & Canada---> GCC (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman), Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Panama, Philippines)
Acrad35751, I'm excited to see how this turns out for you. You're probably the first in the whole country undertaking a project like this in the US for the GX.
To clarify,
US or NA models do not have MTS even with the driver support?
Did you purchase the US driver support computer module or the Rest of the world version?
If you purchased the non-North American/ US version of the module, the speculation is currently that MTS could be unlocked along with your coveted crawl control?

Look at 2014 GX, the part number changes to 47217-60480, 60490, 60500, 60510. My guessing on this are the same part for different market and trim level for inventory control purpose, and possible software revision. Just as Acrad indicated, Backup camera is standard in US specific GX regardless the trim level, which will lead me to believe the functions are all there depends on the components attached, which would result the programmable items or settings to be listed either in TIS or available without any additional settings. Hopefully this will be confirmed soon with Acard's project.

Correct MTS only available in Canada in NA. Just learned that recently from other site member here.
I have ordered the '10-'13 Driver Support ECU that should support MTS. USPS tried to deliver but I am out of town right now. It would appear that crawl can work with the 010 module as I've seen a '13 wreck online that used that for crawl. This could be just the console switch and a calibration if someone just wants crawl. Fingers crossed. I saw a reference to the skid ECU model # used in tecman's '11 in that thread. It almost seems like the presence of DAC may mean CC is possible. Not all Prados have DAC.

Logically, DAC and CC are same control requirement for engine and breaks, and DAC as a fix rated setting while CC is variable with different speed settings. In principle, CC has covered DAC settings. Therefore, a CC switch with current OEM ECU calibration is very much the doable approach. All fingers crossed
It's quite normal with USPS. It's pretty inefficient compare other carrier like UPS and FedEx. Sometime, the status won't even update. I had experienced before as package arrived and status is still displayed in transit. I am sure it will be there soon.
I now have the Driving Support Computer in my possession. This has potential to give me Mult-Terrain Select. Crawl Control may just work with the new console switch but we will see. It's in my area now so I should get within next day or so. I'm going to see if I can get CC working with just console switch first. Some may choose to do just CC instead of CC/MTS so want to confirm that for others.
Yesterday I took the liberty of looking at console switch wiring and driving support computer and looks like all the wires are there. There were some Prados from Russian thread which didn't have all the wires.
[Console Switch] - From what I can see so far the console switch with suspension controls has a separate connector. This is connector to 4H/4L & DAC.
EDIT: I was wrong... only one connector. There is a loom retainer in what I thought was another connector. I think we do have all the same wires. Or at least what is needed for CC.
tecman has a good console removal video he previously posted
I'm not entirely sure he has all the same number of wires as me but maybe just the view. I took from the side and video is from rear. My console switch has two connectors. The forward one for adjustable shocks and rear air bags. My rear connector which serves DAV and 4H/4L looks like it has more wires.
I've reached out to another '12 owner over at IH8Mud... they live in the Seattle area as well. This looks like a GX referenced in the past for lots of conversions. I think I saw it about 6 months back on 405. This would be some good part number info for skid control ECU. Still not certain it has to be exact but would certainly help confirm some things. I noticed it has crawl control from the console switch.
Hopefully it doesn't become just a mantle piece but we'll see how it goes. :-) . Might do this tomorrow... Saturday at latest.
EDIT: At this point... with all research time even if it doesn't work might keep an eye out for proper used skid ECU number. The GX for sale above was posted by the owner of Mule Expedition Outfitters in Issaquah, WA... south of me. This is one of his customers vehicles. They apparently stop by every few days... he is gonna try to get skid ECU # off of it. It being a '12 as well that will help me get an identical unit if it comes down to that.
EDIT2: If it does work I'm gonna hold off a week installing the Drive Computer for MTS... or at least that is what I am saying now :-) . I want to ensure there aren't any ill effects or fault lights that show up that deactivate ABS or VSC.
Yes. I now have Crawl Control :-) :-) :-) MTS doesn't show up yet.. I assume the alternate Driver Support Computer will bring that online. I did have to do the reset calibration twice because I had an ECU disconnect in the middle of reset which gave me some pause. Everything worked as described. It just saw the switch... I didn't need to go through that part of instructions and driving the car straight can happen at any time...once you have a long enough stretch the front wheels show up on the dash again.
I now have the Crawl icon on dash versus DAC and a shot of it on. I tested it a couple times and works perfectly so far. For those that don't know... to activate you first have to go into 4L while in N and then to turn on CC you have either be in D or R. It prompts you on the display on what you need to do as well. I didn't include those screens.
