IS 350 not driven a lot
Hey guys. I own an 2014 IS350 and I hardly drive it. Maybe once every 2 months. What is the best way to ensure longevity of the car? I do maintain the car according to time not miles, as I have very little. Should I get oil change more frequently? Should I add any fuel additive as the fuel doesn't get changed much? Let me hear your thoughts and recommendations. Thank you!

That's a tough one...2 months is not a long time, it's also not a short time.
The most I would recommend is a battery tender to maintain the charge while the vehicle sits.
If you're changing fluids based on time, then you would be fine from that respect.
If you can run out a tank in 3-5 months, then I'd say a fuel stabilizer is not really necessary.
When you do drive it, how far/long are you driving it?

I drive it around 45 to 50 miles a trip. I think that's enough time to get the engine fully warmed up and operational. And to answer the other question. I do drive it enough to justify keeping it. Registration in Chicago isn't that expensive and my insurance is cheap too. I want to keep it for a while as the entire car is covered in clear bra so a lot has been put in just to get rid of it. My goal is to keep it for at least 10 years. Given the is350 engine is much more relatable than 250 one.

Just take your love one for a cruise every month then there's nothing you need to worry about lol

You also may want to drive it for few miles every week to prevent flat spotting on your tires. Usually it is temporary, but in extreme cases your tires will have flat spots permanently if parked for too long.

Hopefully he gets his oil changed frequently and not wait till the mileage which is recommended changing it at, since it would probably take him like a lifetime to see 10k miles lol.
