OEM is Pretty Expensive: $899

Anybody know the OEM part number for this?

I found this aftermarket one that looks good, but not as nice as OEM:

$69

What do you guys think?

The LS has this side moulding and it looks very classy:

No offense, but it makes it like an old person car. On a base model I guess it'd be fine to differentiate it from the others, but I couldn't imagine it on my f-sport. Just my .2.

I think it would look good blacked out like on the older GS pic I posted. Along with the rest of the chrome wrapped gloss black. Buy I see where your coming from.

I like the factory over the after market.

I've seen those as well. I think its a good look but it comes down to personal preference and the overall look you're going for. The 3GS had it and it looked great IMHO. Lots of folks going for the "blacked-out" look so its also a possibility to get it wrapped or dipped/painted black as well if thats your taste. The 2018 LS500 F-Sport has the chrome trim on the bottom from the factory as well.

Here's another thread on this: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...-or-grill.html

I've only seen one GS in person in my neighborhood that had the chrome trim and it looked like it was the aftermarket one (i think they didn't do a good job lining it up):

How does it make the car faster and improve gas mileage at the same time?

We have enough chrome we all want to get rid of... why would you want to put in more chrome?

Shiny chrome really has no place on a car in 2018, unless you are a lowrider.

Modellista also makes a side skirt that has the chrome trim: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...reshed-gs.html

Agree on a F-Sport, may not flow as well. For non-Fsport, then the chrome trim may be able to work depending on the color and exterior mods done.

I think it complements the window chrome trim nicely but for most of us here we like the no-chrome look and end up blacking everything out anyway.
when are they going to offer chrome-less models? must be that the majority of demographic love it, and see it as classy.

funny how I see lots of people do black roofs nowadays that lots of manufacturers make it standard on some of their models (sans glass sunroof).

Most people expect chrome on luxury vehicles. No chrome, flat finishes, black wheels, etc. are more likely wanted on non-luxury vehicles.

Personally not a fan. I've never looked at my GS, or any other car for that matter, and thought "needs more chrome". I wish Lexus did like BMW where they offer a chrome free exterior package.

I think it would look great wrapped in gloss black, but I haven't found an aftermarket one that looks as good as the oem part.

I pretty much de-chromed my car, wrapping it gloss black.
