Just curious but why would you want to install an oil catch can? Is oil leaking from some where in the front of the engine compartment?

It's probably a good idea for the GS300 and IS250 where they don't have Port Injectors. It should help reduce carbon build up on the valves. You may want to check the 2nd gen IS forum. There are a few members that have installed the catch can. It should be the same for the GS300 and maybe the GS350.

Heres an is250 you can see he has his mount lower, which in theory should trap better then mounting it higher up.

That's what I was thinking. Especially after taking off my intake plenum and spending hours cleaning my intake valves(horrendous amount of carbon build up). I mounted it to the air box

The main place to install the catch can would be from the pcv valve, you get more oil from there as it is constantly working. I believe the one at the intake hose only works during high loads, it has a dual purpose providing fresh in at lower loads then relieve pressure at higher loads if i remember reading correctly
